Large-scale hydropower development helped build Norway into an industrial nation. The oil and gas era created one of the world’s most prosperous societies. Now, we stand at the threshold of a new era.<\/p>\n
Norway must create new jobs, increase exports and generate the value needed to finance the welfare society of the future. At the same time, we must make smarter use of land, energy and other natural resources.<\/p>\n
Industrial parks are among the most important indicators of Norway’s competitiveness. They are home to many of the country’s export-oriented companies, where new technologies are developed and substantial value is created every single day.<\/p>\n
For more than a century, Norwegian industrial companies have chosen to locate together in industrial parks. The reason is quite straightforward. When businesses share infrastructure and access to strong professional environments, resources are used more efficiently. This reduces pressure on nature, improves the use of energy and grid capacity, strengthens expertise and encourages innovation.<\/p>\n
That is why I believe industrial parks will play an even more important role in the years ahead.<\/p>\n
Recently, Mo Industrial Park joined forces with H\u00e6r\u00f8ya Industrial Park, Frier Vest, Treklyngen, Raufoss Industrial Park and Haugaland Business Park in a new strategic partnership. Together, we aim to highlight issues that are important to Norwegian industry and contribute to better framework conditions for future value creation.<\/p>\n
However, if we are to succeed, the pace must increase. Approval processes need to become faster, regulatory conditions more predictable, and established industrial clusters must be given better opportunities to continue their development.<\/p>\n
At the same time, it is easy to think of industrial parks as something abstract. In reality, they are about people, businesses and collaboration. They are about companies that invest, build expertise and create jobs every single day.<\/p>\n
