450 Employees and Family Members Gather for MOMEK Summer Party

Bouncy castles, a science show, relay races, tropical shirts and a festive atmosphere. When MOMEK Welfare hosted the MOMEK Summer Party at the end of May, the company’s workshop was transformed into a lively gathering place for employees and their families.

During the daytime, the event was open to employees’ families. Around 200 guests attended, giving children, parents and grandparents the opportunity to experience the workplace in a completely different setting.

The family programme featured bouncy castles, a disco hosted by DJ Taftø, a prize wheel, a mocktail bar, and free slush drinks, ice cream and hot dogs. The day concluded with an entertaining science show and prize ceremony.

“It’s great for the children to see where their parents work. At the same time, this is a social initiative that allows us to meet outside the workplace and simply enjoy spending time together,” says Ruben Solheim, Head of MOMEK Welfare.

“Both children and adults had a fantastic time. It’s wonderful to see the children enjoying activities together with their parents while also getting to know other families,” says Lise-Helen Knudsen, Marketing Advisor at MOMEK.

At the same time, MOMEK fielded three teams with a total of 22 participants in the 7 Steel Relay Race.

Tropical Evening Celebration

As evening approached, it was time for employees and their partners to take over.

Around 250 participants from the group’s four divisions attended the summer party, which featured a tropical Hawaiian theme.

Group CEO Roger Skatland welcomed the guests before students from Polarsirkelen Upper Secondary School served a three-course dinner.

The band Que Duh Ska from Nesna provided the evening’s live entertainment before the annual Tiki Queen and Tiki King awards were presented. Helle Festvåg was crowned Tiki Queen, while Emil Forsbakk and Magnus Larsen shared the title of Tiki King.

The evening concluded with DJ Taftø taking over the music before shuttle buses transported guests into the town centre.

A Team Effort

Knudsen highlights teamwork as the key reason behind the event’s success.

“We couldn’t have made this happen without the excellent cooperation between Mo Industripark, MOMEK and all the employees who contributed. Many people put in a tremendous effort before, during and after the event,” she says.

In total, this year’s MOMEK Summer Party brought together approximately 450 participants throughout the day and evening.
